Biography

Suzanne Barchers, EdD, began her career in publishing after fifteen years as a teacher and reading specialist. She has written more than 300 books and songs for a variety of publishers and educational organizations: Lingokids, LeapFrog, Red Chair Press, Teacher Ideas Press, Heinemann, ABC-Clio, and others. She has built and managed teacher resource divisions for Teacher Ideas Press (Libraries Unlimited) and Fulcrum Publishing. She previously served as Managing Editor at Weekly Reader and Editor in Chief and Vice President at LeapFrog.

Barchers served on advisory boards for PBS Next Generation Kids Media, the Association of Educational Publishers (past president), and EtonKids (Beijing). Currently, she serves as Chair of the Educational Advisory Board for Lingokids, a Madrid-based company, and appears on news broadcasts across the United States on parenting topics for Lingokids. Barchers consults and writes from her home in Denver, CO.
